Times of Masses at St Thomas More

We celebrate Mass at St Thomas More each Sunday at 8:45am. All are welcome.

On the first Sunday of each month, Mass is focused especially on the children - asking children to do the readings, for example - and the homily is designed mainly for the children.

Confession is available 5.30pm to 5.50pm on Saturdays (at St Swithun's) or by appointment at other times.

On Sundays in Lent, Masses at St Thomas More will be followed by Stations of the Cross.

Ash Wednesday

Wednesday 14th February is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Lent is a 40 day period of prayer, fasting and almsgiving {excluding Sundays, because Sundays are always the joyful celebration of the Resurrection). Lent ends on Good Friday, leading to the Resurrection of Christ at Easter. Ash Wednesday is marked by the distribution of Ashes to the faithful on their forehead as a symbolism of penance. There will be Masses at St Swithuns at 10am and at St Thomas More at 12 noon. Please, make sure you attend one of the Masses to receive your Ashes.
