[2017b Altar consecration]
In May 2016, our church was ravaged by a fire, which destroyed the roof. After extensive refurbishment during which we enjoyed the hospitality of St John's, Hartley Wintney, we moved back in during April 2017. On 20th June 2017, Bishop Philip Egan led a service to consecrate our new altar. The service was attended by the clergy from the pastoral area and lots of our parishioners, together with clergy and parishioners from the other churches in the village, and some of the firefighters who fought the blaze.
The service was followed by a reception at Hartley Wintney Golf Club.

[2017a Return to STM]
Our first Mass back at St Thomas More was on Palm Sunday. Traditionally, Mass on Palm Sunday starts with a procession into the church, so we met at the corner of the cricket green and had our procession. On a different level, the procession was also a nice way to mark our return.

[2014-Parish Walk]
After the success of last year's parish walk, we decided to do it again. Again we walked from Hartley Wintney to Yateley, but NIgel Beazley took us on a different route this time. As well as being a social event, we raised funds for the Nick Webber Trust. When we arrived at Yateley we had a bite of lunch, and the bar was open! No mud, plenty of sun, and everybody enjoyed themselves (including the dogs).

[2014-Books arrive at Okene]
This gallery contains some photos from Christ the King School, Okene. These photos were taken by Father Dominic showing the library being set up.

Here is an extract from a letter from Fr Dominic:

I was physically present last weekend and they took delivery of the text books and book shelves. I brought in a carpenter to construct the computer shelves. I got 10 computers which I intend to install as part of St. Thomas More Hartley Wintney's gift to Christ the King Okene. I attach herewith a few pictures that capture a few events.

Once again, I can never thank you enough for going round to get us these precious books. They mean a lot to us. You can see the crowds, the excitement of the children and the hunger to read. The teachers were thrilled and over the moon. I am sure the news will spread to the parents too. Your names will remain engraved in hearts here in Okene.

God bless you
